Riding the Cosmotractor was an exhibition that resulted from a 6-weeks residency with the artist Grégory Cuquel (FR) at Kunsthuis SYB in Friesland, the Netherlands.  We spent the time both developing our own practices whilst at the same time discovering what connects our works.  Below is the text that featured on the exhibition invite.

Hindered by a slight language barrier two artist try to put a finger on the common ground; the area where their interests meet.  They discover mutual experiences in film scores and the desire to find out just what it is that the forms they make have to tell.  They pass by mathematics, geometry, aesthetics, music and cartoons characters.  They ask questions like “what does performance have to do with the gesture of creating?”.  They trace cultural affiliations and assume roles.  Stuck in the everyday, but glancing at the cosmos, they go forth with the ambition to communicate.
